Uses and Benefits of ACROTAC 10MG CAPSULE (ACITRETIN 10MG)
ACROTAC 10MG Capsule contains Acitretin, a retinoid related to Vitamin A. It helps regulate the growth and development of skin cells, reducing excessive skin-cell production and thickening. It is used in the treatment of certain severe forms of psoriasis, helps reduce thickened and scaly skin patches, improves the appearance of psoriasis-affected skin, and may help reduce scaling and inflammation associated with psoriasis. It is usually prescribed by a dermatologist when clinically appropriate. It is not a routine treatment for acne or ordinary skin dryness.
Side Effects of ACROTAC 10MG CAPSULE (ACITRETIN 10MG)
Possible side effects of ACROTAC 10MG Capsule include dry and cracked lips, dryness of the skin and mouth, skin peeling or scaling, hair loss, itching, joint pain, dry nose or nosebleeds, nail brittleness and increased blood lipid levels. These effects can vary between individuals. Contact your doctor if they persist or become severe. Regular blood tests may be required to monitor liver function and blood fats.
How to Use ACROTAC 10MG CAPSULE (ACITRETIN 10MG)
Take ACROTAC 10MG Capsule exactly as prescribed by your dermatologist. It should be taken with food or as directed on the prescription. Swallow the capsule with water. The dose and treatment duration depend on the severity of psoriasis and your response to treatment. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
Safety Information and Precautions for ACROTAC 10MG CAPSULE (ACITRETIN 10MG)
ACROTAC 10MG Capsule must be used under a dermatologist's supervision. Acitretin can cause severe birth defects and must not be used during pregnancy. Anyone who could become pregnant must follow the prescribed pregnancy-prevention programme and avoid pregnancy during treatment and for at least 3 years after stopping. Follow your doctor's requirements for pregnancy testing and contraception. Do not use while breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 2 months after stopping. Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease or high blood lipid levels. Avoid Vitamin A supplements and other retinoid medicines unless specifically approved by your doctor. Do not combine with tetracycline antibiotics such as doxycycline without specialist advice. Use sun protection and avoid excessive sun exposure. Report severe headache, vision changes, significant mood changes or other serious symptoms promptly. Your doctor may order regular liver-function and blood-lipid tests. Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and keep out of reach of children.
