This composition is commonly prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe acne (pimples) on the face and other affected areas of skin.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of acne vulgaris (common pimples/acne)
- Reducing inflamed, red pimples and pustules
- Helping control bacterial growth linked to acne
HOW IT WORKS
- Clindamycin is an antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria that contribute to acne
- Nicotinamide reduces inflammation and redness in the skin
- Together they help reduce both the bacterial and inflammatory causes of acne
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for fungal skin infections
- Not used for eczema, psoriasis, or other non-acne skin conditions
- Not a treatment for deep skin infections or wounds
- Not meant for oral or internal use

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Dryness of skin
- Mild redness or irritation at application site

- Increased sensitivity to sunlight
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe skin rash, swelling, or blistering
- Signs of allergic reaction such as itching, swelling of face/lips/throat, or difficulty breathing
- Severe abdominal pain or watery/bloody diarrhoea (rare, may indicate bowel-related reaction)
- Persistent redness or irritation that worsens with use

How to Use Acuestar Gel (CLINDAMYCIN (1% W/W) + NICOTINAMIDE (4% W/W))
HOW TO TAKE IT
- For external use on the skin only
- Wash and dry the affected area gently before applying
- Apply a thin layer as directed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
- Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and open wounds
- Wash your hands after application
- Do not cover the area with tight bandages unless advised
- Avoid using with other strong acne treatments unless your doctor says so
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one
- Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the cap tightly closed after use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, nicotinamide, or any other ingredient in the product
- Have a history of severe allergic skin reactions to antibiotics

- Have a history of bowel disease such as colitis
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Have very sensitive or broken skin
- Are using other topical acne treatments or skin products
- Have had skin reactions to antibiotics before
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other topical acne medicines (like benzoyl peroxide, retinoids) may increase irritation if used together
- Erythromycin-containing skin products should not be used at the same time
- Abrasive or medicated soaps/cleansers may increase dryness or irritation
