Uses and Benefits of ADENOJECT 30MG INJECTION (ADENOSINE 30MG)
Adenosine 30mg is used mainly to treat and diagnose certain abnormal fast heart rhythms.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- To quickly convert paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) back to a normal heart rhythm
- As part of certain cardiac stress tests to check blood flow to the heart
- To help doctors identify the type of abnormal heart rhythm during an ECG evaluation
HOW IT WORKS
- Adenosine acts on the heart's electrical conduction system, briefly slowing down signals passing through the AV node
- This short pause interrupts the abnormal electrical circuit causing the fast heartbeat, allowing the heart's natural rhythm to take over
- Its effect lasts only a few seconds, which is why it is given as a rapid injection under monitoring
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used for long-term control of heart rate or rhythm
- It is not a treatment for high blood pressure
- It is not used for chest pain unrelated to arrhythmia or stress testing
- It is not for home or self-administration under any circumstance
