This medicine combination is commonly prescribed to treat various bacterial infections, particularly skin, soft tissue, respiratory tract, and bone infections where resistant bacteria may be involved.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, abscesses, and wound infections
• Respiratory tract infections like bronchitis and sinusitis
• Bone and joint infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Infections following surgery or injury involving mixed bacterial strains

HOW IT WORKS

• Amoxycillin kills bacteria by stopping them from forming a healthy cell wall
• Dicloxacillin specifically targets bacteria that produce an enzyme (beta-lactamase) which would otherwise destroy amoxycillin
• Together they provide a broader antibacterial effect, especially against Staphylococcus aureus strains

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections like common cold, flu, or viral fever
• Fungal infections
• Tuberculosis or other infections needing specific antibiotics
• As a general painkiller or fever reducer

• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing
• Severe skin reactions such as blistering, peeling, or widespread rash
• Persistent or bloody diarrhoea, which may indicate a serious bowel infection
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, or signs of liver problems
• Unusual bleeding, bruising, or signs of blood disorders

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually before meals for better absorption
• Swallow tablets or capsules with a full glass of water
• Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better before finishing it
• Do not stop the medicine early as this may lead to antibiotic resistance
• Take doses at evenly spaced intervals as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
• Keep below 25 degrees Celsius unless the label states otherwise
• Keep out of reach of children
• If using a reconstituted suspension, check the label for a specific expiry after mixing, and discard any unused portion after that date

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
