WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure
- Sometimes used along with other blood pressure medicines for better control
HOW IT WORKS
- Blocks the action of a natural chemical called angiotensin II that narrows blood vessels
- Relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering blood pressure
- Reduces strain on the heart by improving blood flow
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

How to Use ALTORAN 40MG TABLET (Azilsartan Medoxomil 40mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
- Can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Try to take it at the same time each day to maintain steady blood pressure control
- Continue taking it even if you feel well, as it controls but does not cure high blood pressure
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and moisture
- Keep the tablet in its original blister pack until ready to use
- Keep out of reach of children and pets

- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen (may reduce effectiveness and affect kidneys)
- Lithium (levels may increase)
- Diabetes medicines containing aliskiren
