Uses and Benefits of AMYLAC CREAM (LACTIC ACID 12% W/W)

This composition is mainly used to treat dry, rough, thickened or scaly skin conditions such as ichthyosis, calluses, corns, and severe skin dryness (xerosis).

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Dry and rough skin conditions
• Thickened or scaly skin (hyperkeratosis)
• Calluses and corns
• Severe dryness of skin, including on heels and elbows
• General moisturizing of very dry skin as advised by doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Lactic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that loosens the connections between dead skin cells
• This helps in gentle removal of the outer dead skin layer
• It also draws moisture into the skin, improving hydration
• Regular use helps make skin smoother and softer over time

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for acne treatment
• It is not meant for open wounds or broken skin
• It is not an antibiotic or antifungal treatment
• It should not be used on mucous membranes like eyes, mouth or genitals

• Temporary discoloration of treated skin

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe burning, blistering or swelling of skin
• Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, itching all over body, or difficulty breathing
• Skin infection at application site (pus, warmth, worsening pain)
• Severe pain or ulceration of skin

How to Use AMYLAC CREAM (LACTIC ACID 12% W/W)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• For external use only, apply on clean and dry skin
• Use a thin layer over the affected area as directed by your doctor
• Wash hands before and after application unless hands are the treated area
• Avoid applying near eyes, mouth, nose or on broken or irritated skin
• Do not bandage or cover the area tightly unless your doctor advises
• Use sunscreen during the day as treated skin may become sensitive to sunlight

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed application

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep the container tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
