This medicine is commonly used to relieve symptoms of common cold and allergy that occur together, especially dry cough with nasal congestion.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Dry, irritating cough that does not produce mucus
- Blocked or stuffy nose due to cold or allergy
- Runny nose and sneezing
- Watery eyes and nasal symptoms associated with allergies
HOW IT WORKS
- Dextromethorphan acts on the brain's cough centre to reduce the urge to cough
- Phenylephrine narrows the blood vessels in the nose, reducing swelling and congestion
- Chlorpheniramine blocks histamine, an inflammatory substance that causes sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Wet or productive cough with thick mucus (this medicine does not help clear phlegm)
- Cough due to asthma, bacterial infection, or tuberculosis
- Long-term or chronic cough without medical evaluation
- High blood pressure or heart conditions, as a treatment
- Children below the age advised by the doctor without medical supervision

How to Use ASTHAKIND-DX Syrup (Dextromethorphan + Phenylephrine + Chlorpheniramine)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the dose and frequency advised
- Can be taken with or without food; taking with food may reduce stomach upset
- Use the measuring cup or spoon provided with the syrup for accurate dosing, not a regular household spoon
- Do not take more than the prescribed amount or for longer than advised
- Avoid driving or operating machinery after taking this medicine, as it can cause drowsiness
- Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to Dextromethorphan, Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine, or any other ingredient in the product
- Are taking or have recently taken MAO inhibitor medicines (used for depression)
- Have severe high blood pressure or heart disease
- Have narrow-angle glaucoma
- Have severe difficulty in passing urine due to prostate enlargement
