Uses and Benefits of Bisofig 5mg Tablets (Bisoprolol Fumarate 5mg)
Bisoprolol Fumarate 5mg is prescribed for heart and blood pressure related conditions.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Managing chronic stable angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart)
- Supporting treatment of stable heart failure along with other medicines
- Controlling certain irregular heart rhythms as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks beta-1 receptors present mainly in the heart
- This slows down the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contraction
- It lowers the oxygen demand of the heart muscle
- Over time, this helps reduce blood pressure and eases chest pain
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat sudden severe chest pain (heart attack) on its own
- It does not cure high blood pressure or heart disease, only controls it
- It should not be used for asthma or breathing problems
- It is not meant for occasional or as-needed use; it needs regular daily dosing
