This medicine is used to treat bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections like sinusitis, bronchitis and pneumonia
• Ear infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Dental infections and abscesses
• Infections after certain surgeries, as advised by doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Amoxycillin stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Many bacteria produce an enzyme that destroys amoxycillin before it can work
• Clavulanate blocks this enzyme, allowing amoxycillin to work effectively even against resistant bacteria

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections like common cold, flu or most sore throats
• Fever without a diagnosed bacterial cause
• Self-treatment without a doctor's prescription
• Preventing infections not advised by a doctor

• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Severe dizziness or fainting

How to Use BLUMOX CA 375MG TABLET (AMOXYCILLIN 250MG + CLAVULANATE 125MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the dose and frequency advised
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking it with food may reduce stomach upset
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Do not stop early as this can lead to antibiotic resistance
• Space out doses evenly through the day as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• Try to take doses at the same times each day to avoid missing them

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• If a liquid suspension is prescribed, check label for refrigeration instructions and discard after the advised period
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to penicillin or any beta-lactam antibiotics
• Have had jaundice or liver problems after taking amoxycillin or clavulanate before
• Have a known allergy to any ingredient in this medicine

• Have liver or kidney disease
• Have a history of allergies, asthma, or hives
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis)
• Have had diarrhoea after taking antibiotics before

• Blood thinners like warfarin
• Methotrexate used for cancer or arthritis
• Allopurinol used for gout
• Oral contraceptive pills, as effectiveness may reduce
• Other antibiotics, unless prescribed together by your doctor
