Cefuroxime 1.5gm injection is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria in different parts of the body.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Bone and joint infections
- Infections of the abdomen and pelvis
- Prevention of infection during certain surgeries
- Meningitis caused by susceptible bacteria
HOW IT WORKS
- Belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics
- Stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall
- This weakens and destroys the bacteria, clearing the infection
