Enoxaparin is used to prevent and treat blood clotting disorders.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after surgery, especially hip or knee replacement
• Prevention of blood clots in patients who are bedridden due to illness
• Treatment of existing deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism
• Prevention of clot formation in patients with unstable angina or certain types of heart attack
• Preventing clotting during dialysis procedures

HOW IT WORKS

• Enoxaparin works by blocking clotting factors in the blood, mainly Factor Xa
• This reduces the blood's ability to form clots
• It helps prevent existing clots from growing larger while the body naturally breaks them down

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller and does not treat pain directly

HOW TO TAKE IT
