HOW IT WORKS

• Ceftazidime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Tazobactam blocks an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that some bacteria use to destroy ceftazidime
• Together, they widen the range of bacteria the antibiotic can treat, including some resistant strains
