HOW IT WORKS

• Ceftazidime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Tazobactam blocks certain bacterial enzymes (beta-lactamases) that would otherwise destroy ceftazidime
• Together they widen the range of bacteria that can be treated, including some resistant strains
