WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Reducing the workload on the heart in people who need both a beta-blocker and a calcium channel blocker
• Long-term management of blood pressure to lower risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems

HOW IT WORKS

• Bisoprolol blocks certain receptors in the heart, slowing the heart rate and reducing the force of contraction
• Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking calcium entry into vessel walls, improving blood flow
• Together, they lower blood pressure through two different mechanisms

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Try to take it at the same time every day to maintain steady blood levels
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor says otherwise
• Do not stop taking suddenly, especially the beta-blocker part, as this can cause a rebound increase in heart rate or blood pressure

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
