Uses and Benefits of CROTORAX HC CREAM (HYDROCORTISONE (0.25% W/W) + CROTAMITON (10% W/W))

This combination is mainly used to treat itching and inflammation of the skin, especially when linked to scabies infestation or other itchy skin conditions.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of itching caused by scabies (after or along with an anti-scabies treatment)
• Itching and irritation due to insect bites
• Mild eczema and other itchy skin conditions where doctor advises a mild steroid
• Reducing redness, swelling and discomfort in irritated skin

HOW IT WORKS

• Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness and swelling in the skin
• Crotamiton relieves itching by acting on the skin and may also have mild anti-scabies mite action
• Together they calm irritated, itchy skin faster than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a standalone treatment for active scabies infestation
• Not for use on broken skin, wounds, or infected skin without doctor's advice
• Not for eye use or use inside the mouth or nose
• Not meant for long-term daily use without medical supervision

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Mild burning or stinging at the site of application
• Dryness of skin
• Itching that may temporarily increase

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Skin redness or irritation
• Rash at the application site
• Thinning of skin with prolonged use

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips or throat
• Signs of skin infection like pus, increasing pain or fever
• Severe blistering or peeling of skin
• Sudden worsening of skin condition after use

How to Use CROTORAX HC CREAM (HYDROCORTISONE (0.25% W/W) + CROTAMITON (10% W/W))

HOW TO TAKE IT

• For external use on skin only, as prescribed by your doctor
• Wash and dry the affected area gently before applying
• Apply a thin layer and rub in gently, usually once or twice a day or as directed
• Wash your hands after application unless hands are the area being treated
• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose and open wounds
• Do not cover the area tightly unless your doctor advises so
• Use for the duration advised by your doctor; do not stop or extend without consulting

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed application

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the cap tightly closed after use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to hydrocortisone, crotamiton, or any ingredient in this product

• Other topical steroid creams or ointments used at the same time
• Other skin products containing strong irritants
• Any other anti-scabies or anti-itch treatment being used together
