Uses and Benefits of DIPROVATE PLUS G CREAM (BETAMETHASONE DIPRO + GENTAMYCIN)
This combination is used to treat skin conditions where inflammation is accompanied by or at risk of bacterial infection.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Infected eczema and dermatitis
- Infected allergic skin reactions
- Bacterial skin infections with associated inflammation, redness and itching
- Other inflammatory skin conditions as advised by your doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces redness, swelling, itching and inflammation of the skin
- Gentamycin is an antibiotic that kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing or complicating the skin infection
- Together they treat both the infection and the inflammation at the same time
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Fungal skin infections like ringworm without infection
- Viral skin infections such as chickenpox, herpes or shingles
- Acne or rosacea
- Plain, uninfected dry skin or minor irritation
- Use on broken skin, wounds or ulcers without doctor's advice

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Burning or stinging at the application site
- Itching
- Dryness of skin
- Mild redness
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Thinning of skin with prolonged use
- Stretch marks (striae)
- Increased visibility of small blood vessels
- Changes in skin colour
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face or lips, difficulty breathing
- Severe skin irritation, blistering or oozing
- Signs of skin infection worsening despite treatment
- Signs of absorption into the body such as unusual weight gain, weakness, or hormonal changes with long-term use
- Vision changes if used near the eyes

How to Use DIPROVATE PLUS G CREAM (BETAMETHASONE DIPRO + GENTAMYCIN)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Wash and dry the affected area gently before application
- Apply a thin layer of the cream or ointment as directed by your doctor
- Use only on the skin; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and open wounds unless advised
- Wash your hands after application unless the hands are the treated area
- Do not cover the area with an airtight bandage unless your doctor tells you to
- Do not use for longer than prescribed, especially on the face, groin or underarms
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one
- Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the tube tightly closed
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to betamethasone, gentamycin, or other corticosteroids/antibiotics
- Have a viral skin infection like chickenpox or herpes
- Have untreated fungal or tuberculous skin infections
- Have acne, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are using this on a child
- Need to use it on large areas of skin or for a long duration
- Have thin or damaged skin, or skin folds like groin/armpits
- Have any kidney or hearing problems, as gentamycin absorption may matter in extensive use
