Uses and Benefits of DYTOR 2ML INJECTION (TORSEMIDE)

Torsemide is mainly used to treat fluid retention (oedema) caused by heart failure, liver disease (cirrhosis), and kidney disease. It is also used to help manage high blood pressure.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Swelling of legs, ankles or abdomen due to fluid buildup
• Fluid retention linked to heart failure
• Fluid retention linked to liver or kidney disease
• High blood pressure, often along with other medicines

HOW IT WORKS

• Acts on the kidneys to increase the amount of salt and water passed out in urine
• Reduces the extra fluid load on the heart and blood vessels
• Lowers blood pressure by reducing fluid volume in the body

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for infections
• Not used to treat pain or fever
• Not a substitute for other heart or blood pressure medicines unless your doctor says so
• Not recommended for casual weight loss or bodybuilding purposes

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Increased urination
• Dizziness or light-headedness

• Hearing changes or ringing in the ears

• Yellowing of skin or eyes

How to Use DYTOR 2ML INJECTION (TORSEMIDE)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day in the morning
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better
• Try to take it at the same time every day
• Avoid taking it late in the evening as it may cause frequent urination at night

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to torsemide or any sulfonamide-related medicines
• Are unable to urinate (anuria)
• Are severely dehydrated or have very low blood volume
• Are in hepatic coma due to liver disease without medical supervision

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have kidney or liver disease
• Have diabetes or gout
• Have low blood pressure or a history of dizziness on standing
