Eflornithine cream is mainly used to reduce the growth of unwanted facial hair in women.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Slowing down excessive facial hair growth (hirsutism) in women
• Used along with other hair removal methods like shaving or plucking

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks an enzyme called ornithine decarboxylase in hair follicle cells
• This enzyme is needed for hair to grow, so blocking it slows hair growth
• It does not remove existing hair, only slows new hair growth

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for permanent hair removal
• Not used for hair loss on the scalp
• Not used for hair growth problems in men
• Not a treatment for hormonal conditions causing excess hair, only manages the hair growth symptom

How to Use EFLORA CREAM (EFLORNITHINE 13.9% W/W)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Apply a thin layer to the affected facial area as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day
• Rub in gently until it disappears
• Wait as directed before applying makeup or sunscreen after application
• Wash hands after applying, unless hands are the treated area
• Do not wash the treated area for the time period advised by your doctor after applying
• Use regularly for the full period advised, as results take several weeks to show

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
• Do not apply extra cream to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep out of reach of children
• Keep the tube tightly closed
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
