WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood glucose (sugar) levels in adults with diabetes
- Used in type 1 diabetes as part of insulin therapy

HOW IT WORKS
- Insulin Lispro acts quickly to control the rise in blood sugar after meals
- Insulin Lispro Protamine acts slowly over a longer period to provide background insulin coverage
- Together they mimic the body's natural insulin release pattern around meal times
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for treating diabetic ketoacidosis emergencies requiring intravenous insulin

- Signs of severe low blood sugar such as confusion, sweating, seizures or loss of consciousness
- Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling of face, lips or throat, or difficulty breathing
- Very low potassium levels causing muscle weakness or irregular heartbeat
- Sudden weight gain, swelling of legs, or shortness of breath (signs of fluid retention or heart problems)

How to Use EGLUCENT MIX 50 PEN (INSULIN LISPRO 50% + INSULIN LISPRO PROTAMINE 50%)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine only as prescribed by your doctor, usually by injection under the skin
- It is generally given shortly before a meal, as advised by your doctor
- Do not inject into a vein or muscle unless specifically instructed
- Rotate injection sites (abdomen, thigh, upper arm) to avoid skin problems
- Always check the insulin looks uniformly cloudy (mixed) before use; do not use if clumped or discolored
- Follow the injection technique taught by your doctor or nurse
IF YOU MISS A DOSE

STORAGE
