This medicine is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria in various parts of the body.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, sinusitis and tonsillitis
- Ear, nose and throat infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Uncomplicated gonorrhoea
- Early Lyme disease in some cases
HOW IT WORKS
- It belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics
- It stops bacteria from building their protective outer wall
- Without this wall, the bacteria are unable to survive and the infection is controlled
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not work against viral infections such as common cold or flu
- It is not effective for infections caused by bacteria resistant to cephalosporins
- It should not be used to self-treat fever or infection without a doctor's diagnosis
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat pain that is unrelated to infection

- Yellowing of skin or eyes, which may indicate liver problems
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
- Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling

How to Use ENGEL INJECTION 750MG (CEFUROXIME AXETIL 750MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- It is best taken with or shortly after food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or split it
- Complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better before finishing it
- Do not stop the medicine early unless advised by your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the pack
- Discard any unused tablets safely as advised by your pharmacist

- Medicines that reduce stomach acid, such as antacids or acid reducers, which can lower absorption
- Probenecid, which can increase levels of this medicine in the body
- Oral contraceptives, as effectiveness may be reduced
- Anticoagulants like warfarin, as bleeding risk may increase
