Uses and Benefits of GENTALENE PLUS CREAM 10 GM (BECLOMETHASONE + NEOMYCIN)

This combination is mainly used to treat inflammatory conditions of the ear and skin that are associated with bacterial infection.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Infected outer ear infections (otitis externa) with inflammation, itching and discharge
• Bacterial skin infections accompanied by inflammation, redness and itching
• Eczema or dermatitis that has become infected

HOW IT WORKS

• Beclomethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, swelling and itching
• Neomycin is an antibiotic that kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection
• Together they treat both the infection and the inflammation it causes

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral or fungal infections of the ear or skin
• Ear infections with a perforated (ruptured) eardrum unless specifically advised by a doctor
• Acne, plain dry skin, or skin conditions without infection
• Long-term routine use for minor irritation

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Mild burning or stinging at the site of application

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Thinning of skin with prolonged use
• Skin discoloration at application site
• Delayed wound healing

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face/lips, or difficulty breathing
• Hearing loss or ringing in the ears (especially with prolonged ear use)
• Severe pain, worsening redness, or spreading infection
• Signs of absorption into the body such as unusual tiredness or weight changes with prolonged use

How to Use GENTALENE PLUS CREAM 10 GM (BECLOMETHASONE + NEOMYCIN)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Use only as prescribed by your doctor, in the exact amount and frequency advised
• Clean and dry the affected area/ear before application unless told otherwise
• For ear drops, warm the bottle slightly in your hand before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to the ear
• For skin use, apply a thin layer and rub in gently unless otherwise instructed
• Wash your hands before and after application
• Do not use more often or for longer than prescribed, especially near the eyes
• Do not bandage or cover the area tightly unless your doctor advises so

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep the container tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to beclomethasone, neomycin, or other similar antibiotics/steroids
• Have a perforated eardrum (for ear use) unless your doctor specifically approves
• Have a viral, fungal, or tubercular infection at the site without proper antifungal/antiviral cover
• Have untreated active infection that requires a different treatment
