Uses and Benefits of LACOSAM Injection 2M (Lacosamide 10mg)
Lacosamide is used to treat epilepsy, a condition in which abnormal brain activity causes seizures (fits).
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating partial-onset (focal) seizures in adults and children, alone or along with other anti-epileptic medicines
- Long-term seizure control as part of an overall epilepsy treatment plan
HOW IT WORKS
- It acts on sodium channels in brain cells, reducing the abnormal, repeated electrical signals that cause seizures
- This helps stabilise nerve cell activity and lowers the chance of a seizure starting or spreading
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller and should not be used for ordinary headaches or body pain
- It is not a cure for epilepsy; it only controls seizures while you keep taking it
- It is not meant for occasional or one-time use to stop a seizure that is already happening
- It should not be used without medical supervision to self-treat any nerve-related symptoms
