Uses and Benefits of LEVERA Injection (Levetiracetam 100mg)

Levetiracetam is mainly used to treat epilepsy, a condition in which abnormal electrical activity in the brain causes seizures.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating partial (focal) onset seizures in adults and children
• Treating myoclonic seizures in certain types of epilepsy
• Treating primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures
• Used alone or combined with other anti-epileptic medicines as advised by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It acts on a specific protein in the brain (SV2A) involved in nerve signalling
• This helps reduce abnormal, excessive electrical activity that causes seizures
• It helps stabilise nerve cell activity and lowers the frequency of seizures

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for treating headaches or migraines
• Not a painkiller and not used for general body pain
• Not used to treat anxiety or sleep disorders
• Not meant for occasional, one-time fits caused by fever, low sugar, or other reversible causes unless advised by a doctor

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Sleepiness or drowsiness
• Weakness or tiredness
• Dizziness

• Signs of severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing
• Unusual bleeding, bruising, or signs of infection
• Severe confusion, hallucinations, or behavioural changes

How to Use LEVERA Injection (Levetiracetam 100mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time(s) each day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as it may increase the risk of seizures
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, unless your doctor tells you to stop

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, inform your doctor

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light, and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
