Thiocolchicoside is mainly prescribed to relieve painful muscle spasms and stiffness that occur due to conditions like acute low back pain, neck pain, and other musculoskeletal disorders.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of acute muscle spasm and stiffness, especially in the back and neck
• As add-on therapy along with rest, physiotherapy, and painkillers for muscular pain
• Post-injury or post-strain muscle tightness

HOW IT WORKS

• It acts on the central nervous system to reduce excessive muscle contraction
• It helps relax tightened muscles, which reduces pain and improves movement
• It does not directly treat the underlying cause of the spasm, only the symptom

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Swallow tablets/capsules with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not use it for longer than the prescribed duration, as it is meant for short-term use
• If using a gel or cream form, apply only to the affected area as directed and avoid broken skin, eyes, or mucous membranes

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
