Ondansetron 8mg is mainly used to control nausea and vomiting.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy
• Prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by radiotherapy
• Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting after surgery

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks serotonin receptors in the gut and brain that trigger the vomiting reflex
• This reduces the signals that cause nausea and vomiting
• It does not affect the underlying condition, only the symptom of nausea/vomiting

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for regular motion sickness
• Not used for nausea caused by pregnancy unless specifically advised by a doctor
• Not a treatment for the cancer or the underlying illness itself
• Not meant for daily long-term use without medical supervision

How to Use NUSET 8MG INJECTION (ONDANSETRON 8MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually before chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not increase the dose or take it more often than prescribed
• Complete the course as directed, even if you feel better

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Since this medicine is often taken around specific treatments (like chemotherapy), missed doses should be discussed with your doctor rather than self-adjusted
• If it is part of a regular schedule, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next dose
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to ondansetron or similar medicines

• Have a known heart rhythm problem such as long QT syndrome
