WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Bacterial infections of the outer ear
- Fungal infections of the outer ear
- Ear pain and discomfort caused by infection
- Inflammation and swelling of the ear canal
HOW IT WORKS
- Chloramphenicol kills or stops the growth of bacteria
- Clotrimazole works against fungal organisms causing infection
- Beclometasone reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling
- Lignocaine numbs the area to relieve pain and itching quickly
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Middle ear infections with a perforated eardrum, unless specifically advised
- Eye infections
- Infections deep inside the body
- General pain relief unrelated to the ear
- Viral infections

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Mild burning or stinging in the ear after application
- Itching in the ear canal
- Temporary taste disturbance if drops reach the throat
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Dryness or irritation of the ear canal skin
- Mild redness around the ear
- Temporary reduced hearing sensation due to numbness
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe pain, swelling, or discharge from the ear
- Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face/lips, or difficulty breathing
- Sudden hearing loss
- Persistent dizziness or ringing in the ears
- Signs of skin thinning or worsening infection with prolonged use

How to Use Otek-AC Drops (Chloramphenicol + Beclometasone + Clotrimazole + Lignocaine)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only in the ear as directed by your doctor
- Clean and dry the outer ear gently before applying, if advised
- Tilt the head sideways and apply the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal
- Gently pull the earlobe to help the drops flow inside
- Stay in the tilted position for a minute or two after application
- Do not use more often or for longer than prescribed
- Wash your hands before and after use
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not apply double drops to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
- Keep the cap tightly closed
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
- Discard the dropper bottle if the liquid changes colour or smell

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to chloramphenicol, beclometasone, clotrimazole, lignocaine, or similar medicines
- Have a perforated (torn) eardrum, unless your doctor says it is safe
- Have a viral ear infection
- Have untreated tuberculosis of the ear
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have a history of ear surgery
- Have diabetes or a weakened immune system
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are using other ear medicines
- Have had a reaction to steroid or antibiotic ear drops before
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other ear drops or ointments used at the same time
- Other steroid-containing preparations used elsewhere on the body
- Inform your doctor about all other medicines, supplements, or ear products you are using
