Oxytetracycline injection is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria in various parts of the body.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Certain sexually transmitted infections
• Infections caused by rickettsia and some other atypical organisms
• Eye infections in certain cases

HOW IT WORKS

• Oxytetracycline blocks bacterial protein production
• This stops bacteria from growing and multiplying
• It allows the body's own defence system to clear the remaining infection

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not work against viral infections such as flu or common cold
• It is not effective against fungal infections
• It should not be used to treat infections known to be resistant to tetracyclines
• It is not a general painkiller or fever reducer

HOW TO TAKE IT

STORAGE
