WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To reduce the risk of infection caused by low white blood cell count (neutropenia) after chemotherapy
• To help the bone marrow recover white blood cell production faster after cancer treatment

HOW IT WORKS

• It is a man-made form of a protein called G-CSF (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor)
• It stimulates the bone marrow to produce more neutrophils, a type of white blood cell that fights infection
• Being long-acting (pegylated), it stays in the body longer, so it usually needs only one injection per chemotherapy cycle

HOW TO TAKE IT

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
