Uses and Benefits of POLMAFORCE Capsules (Polmacoxib 2mg)
Polmacoxib is mainly used to treat pain, swelling and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis and related joint conditions.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of joint pain due to osteoarthritis
- Reducing swelling and stiffness in affected joints
- Improving joint mobility and daily comfort
HOW IT WORKS
- Blocks a specific enzyme called COX-2 involved in producing pain and inflammation-causing chemicals
- Being selective for COX-2, it is designed to cause fewer stomach-related side effects than older NSAIDs
- Helps reduce swelling, stiffness and pain over time with regular use
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a cure for osteoarthritis or any joint disease
- Not meant for sudden, severe or unexplained pain without medical evaluation
- Not to be used for infections, fever alone, or as a general painkiller without doctor's advice
- Not suitable for long-term self-use without medical supervision

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Indigestion or stomach discomfort
- Nausea
- Headache
- Dizziness
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Diarrhoea or constipation
- Swelling in feet or ankles
- Mild skin rash
- Increased blood pressure
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Chest pain, breathlessness or irregular heartbeat
- Signs of stomach bleeding such as black stools or vomiting blood
- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat
- Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
- Sudden decrease in urine output or swelling suggesting kidney problems

How to Use POLMAFORCE Capsules (Polmacoxib 2mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Can be taken with or without food, but taking with food may reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Take at the same time each day for best effect
- Do not increase the dose or duration on your own
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
- Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to polmacoxib or other NSAIDs
- Have active stomach or intestinal bleeding or ulcers

- Have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure or stroke
- Have asthma or a history of allergic reactions to painkillers
- Have kidney or liver problems
- Are taking blood thinners or other pain medicines
- Are elderly, as you may be more sensitive to side effects
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Blood thinners such as warfarin or aspirin
- Other NSAIDs or pain relievers
- Blood pressure medicines, as effectiveness may be reduced
- Diuretics (water tablets)
- Lithium or methotrexate
