This medicine combination is commonly used for the treatment of haemorrhoids (piles), anal fissures and other painful, itchy or inflamed conditions of the anal and rectal region.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief from pain, itching and burning caused by piles
- Reducing swelling and inflammation around the anus
- Controlling minor bleeding from haemorrhoids
- Soothing irritated or cracked skin in the anal area
HOW IT WORKS
- Lidocaine numbs the area to relieve pain and itching
- Hydrocortisone reduces inflammation, redness and swelling
- Phenylephrine constricts blood vessels to reduce swelling and bleeding
- Zinc oxide forms a protective, soothing barrier over irritated skin
- Calcium dobesilate strengthens blood vessel walls and reduces fragility
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for treating infections caused by bacteria or fungus unless specifically advised
- Not a treatment for internal bleeding disorders unrelated to piles
- Not meant for long-term daily use without medical supervision
- Not for use on broken skin elsewhere on the body without doctor's advice

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Mild burning or stinging at the site of application
- Itching or irritation
- Dryness of the skin around the area
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Skin rash or redness
- Thinning of skin with prolonged use
- Mild swelling at the application site
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe pain, bleeding or worsening of symptoms
- Signs of skin infection such as pus, increasing redness or fever
- Irregular heartbeat or palpitations (due to phenylephrine absorption)

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only as directed by your doctor, usually applied to the affected area a few times a day
- Wash and dry the area gently before application
- Apply a thin layer; do not rub in too hard
- Wash your hands after application unless the hands are the treated area
- Do not use more often or for longer than prescribed
- Avoid contact with eyes; if it happens, rinse thoroughly with water
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
- Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the tube tightly closed after use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to lidocaine, hydrocortisone, phenylephrine, zinc oxide, calcium dobesilate or similar medicines
- Have a skin infection at the site that is untreated
- Have been advised against using steroid-containing creams in the anal area
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have high blood pressure or heart disease (due to phenylephrine)
- Have diabetes
- Have a known skin infection, fungal infection or open wound in the area
- Are using other topical steroid or anaesthetic products
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other steroid creams or oral steroids
- Blood pressure medicines or drugs affecting the heart, due to phenylephrine
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or certain antidepressants
- Other local anaesthetic products used at the same time
