Uses and Benefits of TACHYBAN INJECTION (ADENOSINE 6MG)
Adenosine 6mg is used for managing certain types of fast, abnormal heart rhythms.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- To quickly stop episodes of a fast heart rhythm called paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT)
- To help doctors diagnose the type of fast heart rhythm during a heart rhythm test
- To assist during certain cardiac stress testing procedures
HOW IT WORKS
- It briefly slows down electrical signals passing through a part of the heart called the AV node
- This interrupts the abnormal electrical circuit causing the fast heart rhythm
- Its effect lasts only a few seconds, so it is given as a rapid injection into a vein
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used for routine, long-term control of heart rhythm problems
- It is not used for chest pain unrelated to heart rhythm disturbances
- It is not a medicine for self-administration or home use
- It is not used for high or low blood pressure treatment

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Flushing or redness of the face
- Chest discomfort or tightness
- Shortness of breath for a few seconds
- A feeling of the heart skipping or pounding

- Metallic taste in the mouth
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe difficulty breathing or wheezing
- Fainting or loss of consciousness
- Very slow heartbeat or long pause in heartbeat
- Chest pain that does not go away quickly
- Signs of severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips or throat

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
