Uses and Benefits of TACROZ FORTE OINTMENT (Tacrolimus 0.1g)
Tacrolimus is mainly used to prevent organ rejection after a transplant and, in some cases, to manage certain autoimmune or skin conditions under specialist supervision.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Preventing rejection of a transplanted kidney, liver or heart
- Used along with other immunosuppressant medicines as part of an anti-rejection regimen
- Sometimes used off-label for certain severe autoimmune conditions on doctor's advice
HOW IT WORKS
- It suppresses the activity of immune cells (T-lymphocytes) that would otherwise attack the transplanted organ
- This lowers the immune response, allowing the body to accept the new organ
- It does not cure the underlying disease but controls the immune reaction
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a painkiller or antibiotic
- It is not used for common infections
- It should not be used casually for minor skin rashes without medical advice
- It is not a substitute for other prescribed transplant medicines unless directed
