- Infections of bones and joints
- Infections in the abdomen (stomach area)
- Meningitis caused by susceptible bacteria
- Infections in people with weak immunity, as advised by the doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- It belongs to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics
- It works by stopping bacteria from building their protective outer wall
- Without this wall, the bacteria cannot survive and get destroyed
- It is effective against many types of gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not work against viral infections like cold, flu, or most sore throats
- It is not used for fungal infections
