This medicine is mainly prescribed to manage Parkinson's disease and Parkinsonism-like conditions that affect movement, muscle control and coordination.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as tremors, stiffness and slow movement
- Managing Parkinsonism caused by certain other conditions, as advised by your doctor
- Improving mobility and daily functioning in people with movement disorders
HOW IT WORKS
- Levodopa is converted into dopamine in the brain, a chemical needed for smooth muscle movement
- Carbidopa prevents levodopa from being broken down before it reaches the brain
- This combination allows more levodopa to work in the brain at a lower overall dose
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a cure for Parkinson's disease, only symptom control
- It is not used for general muscle pain or unrelated tremors
- It is not meant for anxiety-related shaking or essential tremor unless specifically advised

How to Use TIDOMET LS Tablets (Levodopa 100mg + Carbidopa 10mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually multiple times a day
- Can be taken with or without food, but taking with a light snack may help reduce nausea
- Avoid high-protein meals close to your dose as they may reduce absorption
- Do not crush or chew unless your doctor or pharmacist says it is safe to do so
- Do not stop the medicine suddenly without medical advice, as this can worsen symptoms
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to levodopa, carbidopa or any ingredient in this medicine
- Have narrow-angle glaucoma
- Have a history of malignant melanoma or undiagnosed skin lesions
- Are taking certain MAO inhibitor medicines currently or recently
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have heart disease, irregular heartbeat, or low blood pressure
- Have a history of mental illness, depression or hallucinations
- Have liver, kidney or lung disease
- Have a history of stomach ulcers
