Uses and Benefits of TIGOTREAT CREAM (Ozenoxacin (1% w/w))
Ozenoxacin cream is mainly used to treat impetigo, a superficial bacterial skin infection commonly seen in children and adults, caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of impetigo caused by susceptible bacteria
- Localised, uncomplicated skin infections as advised by a doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- It belongs to a class of antibiotics called quinolones
- It stops bacteria from multiplying by blocking enzymes needed for their DNA replication
- This leads to the death of bacteria causing the skin infection
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Viral or fungal skin infections
- Acne or other non-bacterial skin conditions
- Deep or widespread skin infections requiring oral or injectable antibiotics
- Eye, mouth, or internal use of any kind
- Self-treatment without a doctor's diagnosis, since impetigo needs confirmation before starting antibiotic therapy
