Olanzapine is mainly used to treat serious mental health conditions where thinking, mood, and behaviour are affected.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders
- Treating manic episodes linked to bipolar disorder
- Preventing relapse of mood episodes in bipolar disorder
- Sometimes used along with other medicines to treat severe depression
HOW IT WORKS
- Acts on brain chemicals called dopamine and serotonin
- Helps restore the balance of these chemicals in the brain
- Reduces symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and disturbed thinking
- Helps stabilise mood swings seen in bipolar disorder
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for simple anxiety or everyday stress
- Not a sleeping pill for occasional insomnia
- Not used to treat dementia-related behavioural problems in elderly patients unless specifically advised, due to increased risk of stroke
- Not meant for self-medication without a doctor's diagnosis

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

- Signs of high blood sugar such as excessive thirst, frequent urination, or extreme tiredness
- Fainting, chest pain, or irregular heartbeat
- Yellowing of skin or eyes
- Thoughts of self-harm or worsening mood

How to Use TOLAZ LA 300MG INJECTION (Olanzapine 300mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
- Can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet with water; if using the disintegrating type, let it dissolve on the tongue
- Try to take it at the same time each day to build a routine
- Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses often, set a reminder or speak to your doctor about adjusting your routine

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to olanzapine or any of its ingredients
