WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high uric acid levels in blood (hyperuricemia)
• Long-term management of gout to reduce frequency of flare-ups

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an enzyme called xanthine oxidase
• This enzyme is needed to produce uric acid in the body

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, since uric acid control needs long-term treatment
