Uses and Benefits of TROYSET 2MG INJECTION (ONDANSETRON 2MG)
Ondansetron is mainly used to control nausea and vomiting.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Preventing and treating nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy
- Preventing and treating nausea and vomiting caused by radiotherapy
- Preventing and treating nausea and vomiting after surgery (post-operative)
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks a chemical called serotonin (5-HT3) in the gut and brain that triggers the vomiting reflex
- By blocking this signal, it reduces the feeling of nausea and the urge to vomit
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a general painkiller
- It is not used for motion sickness
- It is not a treatment for acid reflux, gastritis, or stomach infections
- It should not be used as a routine remedy for occasional stomach upset without medical advice

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

How to Use TROYSET 2MG INJECTION (ONDANSETRON 2MG)
Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Usually taken before chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, and continued for a short period after, as advised
- Tablets can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not chew if it is a regular tablet, unless it is a mouth-dissolving tablet meant to melt on the tongue
- Do not change the dose or frequency on your own
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Since this is usually taken around a procedure or as needed for nausea, follow your doctor's specific instructions
- If you are on a regular schedule and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to ondansetron or similar medicines
- Are taking apomorphine (a medicine for Parkinson's disease)
- Have a rare genetic condition affecting heart rhythm (congenital long QT syndrome)

- Have any heart problems, including irregular heartbeat
- Have liver disease
- Have low levels of potassium or magnesium in blood
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Have a blockage in your intestine

- Medicines for irregular heart rhythm
- Certain antibiotics and antifungal medicines
- Antidepressants, especially SSRIs and SNRIs (risk of serotonin syndrome)
