This medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and a single medicine alone are not enough to control blood sugar.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
- Used along with diet and exercise for better sugar control
- Sometimes used with other diabetes medicines as advised by your doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin
- Metformin reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver
- Metformin also helps the body use insulin more effectively
- Together they help lower blood sugar more effectively than either alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis (a medical emergency)
- Not a substitute for insulin when insulin is required

- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or difficulty breathing
- Unusual bleeding or bruising

How to Use ZORYL M 3 TABLET (Glimepiride 3mg + Metformin 500mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with breakfast or the first main meal
- Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not skip meals after taking this medicine, as it can cause low blood sugar
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well; diabetes needs long-term control
- Do not change the dose on your own
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember, with food if it is close to a meal time
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep in the original packaging

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

- Have type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis

- Have a severe infection, recent heart attack, or are having surgery
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor

- Drink alcohol regularly
- Are elderly or malnourished

- Other diabetes medicines or insulin
- Steroids or certain blood pressure medicines
- Alcohol, which increases risk of low blood sugar and lactic acidosis
- Certain antibiotics and pain relievers
- Contrast dye used in some scans
