This combination medicine is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, soft tissue, respiratory tract, ENT region, and other body sites where the causing bacteria are sensitive to both these antibiotics.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, abscesses and wound infections
• Respiratory tract infections like bronchitis and throat infections
• Ear, nose and throat infections
• Infections after surgery, as directed by the doctor
• Other bacterial infections where a mixed or resistant organism is suspected

HOW IT WORKS

• Ampicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that stops bacteria from building their cell wall, causing them to die
• Dicloxacillin also stops cell wall formation but additionally resists breakdown by an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that some bacteria use to destroy ampicillin
• Together they cover a wider range of bacteria than either drug alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu or most sore throats
• Fungal infections
• Tuberculosis
• Any infection without a doctor's evaluation and prescription

How to Use Ampicillin 125mg + Dicloxacillin 125mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach, about an hour before or two hours after food, unless advised otherwise
• Swallow tablets or capsules with a full glass of water
• Take doses at evenly spaced intervals as instructed
• Complete the full course even if you feel better after a few days, unless your doctor tells you to stop
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• If a liquid suspension has been prepared, check the label for how long it stays usable and store as directed, usually in a cool place or refrigerator
• Discard any unused or expired medicine safely

• Unusual bruising, bleeding or signs of low blood counts
• Severe dizziness or fainting

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to penicillin, ampicillin, dicloxacillin or any other beta-lactam antibiotic
