This combination medicine is commonly prescribed for bacterial infections of the skin, soft tissue, respiratory tract, ENT region and other body sites where a mix of susceptible and enzyme-producing bacteria is suspected.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, abscesses and wound infections
• Respiratory tract infections like bronchitis and sinusitis
• Ear, nose and throat infections
• Urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Post-surgical infections as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Ampicillin stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Dicloxacillin resists breakdown by certain bacterial enzymes, allowing it to kill bacteria that would otherwise survive
• Together they cover a wider range of bacteria than either drug alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu or most sore throats
• Fungal infections
• Tuberculosis

How to Use Ampicillin 250mg + Dicloxacillin 250mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually every few hours as directed
• Best taken on an empty stomach, about half an hour before meals, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow capsules with a full glass of water; shake syrup well before use
• Complete the full course even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to stop
• Do not stop early as this can lead to antibiotic resistance

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE
