How to Use Atomoxetine

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • Swallow the capsule whole; do not open, chew or crush it
  • Effects may take a few weeks to become noticeable, so continue as advised even if improvement is not immediate
  • Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

  • Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
  • If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
  • Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture
  • Keep in the original pack, out of reach and sight of children
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

  • Priapism (painful, prolonged erection) in males

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

  • Are allergic to atomoxetine or any of its ingredients

  • Have a tumour of the adrenal gland called phaeochromocytoma
  • Are currently taking or have recently stopped taking MAO inhibitor medicines
  • Have severe high blood pressure or narrow-angle glaucoma (discuss with doctor)
