This combination medicine is used mainly to treat high cholesterol and to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart-related problems in people with high cholesterol or existing heart disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and total cholesterol
• Lowering triglyceride levels
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events in high-risk patients

HOW IT WORKS

• Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in the liver that produces cholesterol
• Ezetimibe blocks absorption of cholesterol from food and bile in the intestine
• Together they lower cholesterol through two different pathways, giving better control than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a treatment for high blood pressure

How to Use Atorvastatin 80mg + Ezetimibe 10mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so
• Continue taking it even if you feel well — cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor
• Follow a low-fat diet and stay active as advised, alongside this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses frequently, inform your doctor

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original blister pack or container

• Unexplained, severe muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially with fever or dark-coloured urine (possible muscle breakdown)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, severe stomach pain, dark urine (possible liver problem)
• Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing, severe skin rash
• Persistent nausea, vomiting, or extreme tiredness
