WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Eczema and dermatitis with infection
• Psoriasis patches with infection risk

HOW IT WORKS

• Betamethasone dipropionate is a corticosteroid that reduces redness, swelling, itching and inflammation of the skin
• Neomycin sulphate is an antibiotic that kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing or complicating the skin infection
• Together they treat both the inflammation and the infection at the same time

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for viral skin infections like chickenpox, herpes or shingles
• Not for fungal infections such as ringworm unless specifically advised
• Not for acne or rosacea
• Not for use on open wounds or deep cuts
• Not for long-term routine use on large areas of skin

Always use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor and only on the area of skin advised.

How to Use Betamethasone Dipro + Neomycin Sulphate

HOW TO TAKE IT

• For external use on skin only, not to be taken by mouth
• Wash and dry the affected area gently before applying
• Apply a thin layer as advised by your doctor, usually once or twice daily
• Rub in gently and wash your hands after application unless hands are the treated area
• Do not cover the area with airtight bandages unless your doctor tells you to
• Do not apply on the face, groin or underarms unless specifically advised, as skin here is thinner
• Do not use more often or for longer than prescribed

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one
• Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep the tube tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

• Increased hair growth on treated skin

• Severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips or throat
• Signs of skin infection getting worse instead of better
• Severe rash, blistering or peeling of skin
• Signs of hearing problems if used near ears for long periods
• Signs of hormonal imbalance with long term or excessive use, such as unusual weight gain or weakness
