This combination medicine is mainly prescribed to treat allergic rhinitis, especially in people who also have mild wheezing or asthma-like symptoms triggered by allergies.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion and itching due to allergies
- Relief of itchy, watery, red eyes caused by allergies
- Add-on treatment in allergic asthma symptoms along with other prescribed asthma medicines
- Long-term control of seasonal or year-round allergy symptoms
HOW IT WORKS
- Bilastine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine receptors, reducing sneezing, itching and runny nose
- Montelukast blocks leukotriene receptors, reducing airway inflammation, swelling and mucus production
- Together they provide relief from both nasal allergy symptoms and airway tightness
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a rescue treatment for sudden asthma attacks or breathlessness
- Not used for common cold or bacterial sinus infections
- Not a substitute for inhalers prescribed for asthma control
- Not recommended for quick relief of hives or severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis
How to Use Bilastine 20mg + Montelukast 10mg
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- Avoid taking with fruit juices, as they may reduce absorption of bilastine
- Do not increase or stop the dose on your own without consulting your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the tablet strip in its original packaging until ready to use
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

- Phenobarbital or rifampicin, which may reduce effectiveness of montelukast
