WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To control partial-onset (focal) seizures in adults and adolescents
• Often used along with other anti-epileptic medicines as add-on therapy

HOW IT WORKS

• It binds to a specific protein (SV2A) in brain cells that helps regulate release of chemical messengers
• This reduces abnormal, excessive electrical signalling in the brain

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller or a sleep medicine
• It does not treat anxiety or mood disorders

How to Use Brivaracetam 200mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
• Swallow the tablet with water; it can be taken with or without food
• Do not change the dose or stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can trigger seizures
• Take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady levels in the body

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, inform your doctor as it may affect seizure control

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

• Aggression, agitation, or unusual behaviour changes
