This medicine combination is mainly used to treat and prevent nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and motion sickness related to inner ear (vestibular) disorders and travel sickness.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Motion sickness during travel by car, ship, train, or air
- Vertigo (spinning sensation) due to inner ear disorders like Meniere's disease
- Nausea and vomiting linked to balance disturbances
- Dizziness associated with vestibular disorders
HOW IT WORKS
- Cinnarizine blocks calcium channels and reduces the sensitivity of the inner ear balance system
- It also has antihistamine action that reduces vertigo and nausea signals to the brain
- Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine that acts on the brain's vomiting centre to prevent nausea and vomiting
- Together they reduce dizziness, nausea, and vomiting more effectively than either alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
