This medicine is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye or ear along with the associated inflammation and swelling.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis (red, infected eye)
  • Post-operative eye inflammation with infection risk
  • Infected ear discharge (otitis externa)
  • Other bacterial eye/ear infections where inflammation is also present

HOW IT WORKS

  • Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing the infection
  • Dexamethasone is a steroid that reduces swelling, redness, itching and pain caused by inflammation
  • Together they treat the infection and calm the inflammation faster than an antibiotic alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

  • Viral or fungal eye/ear infections

How to Use Ciprofloxacin 0.3% + Dexamethasone 0.1%

HOW TO TAKE IT

  • Use only in the eye or ear as prescribed by your doctor
  • Wash your hands before use
  • For eye drops, tilt the head back, pull the lower eyelid down and place the drop inside without touching the dropper tip to the eye
  • For ear drops, tilt the head to the side and place the drop into the ear canal as directed
  • Keep eyes closed gently for a minute after applying eye drops
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination
  • Use the exact number of drops and frequency advised by your doctor
  • Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

  • Apply it as soon as you remember
  • If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
  • Do not apply extra drops to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed
  • Do not use after the bottle has been opened for more than the period mentioned on the label (usually 4 weeks)
  • Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

  • Are allergic to ciprofloxacin, dexamethasone, other fluoroquinolones or steroids

  • Have untreated eye infections other than bacterial ones
