How to Use Clindamycin 300mg

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a full glass of water
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking with food may reduce stomach upset
• Do not lie down immediately after taking the capsule
• Complete the full course even if you feel better, to prevent bacteria becoming resistant
• Do not stop the medicine early without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as normal
• Do not take double doses to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Dispose of unused medicine safely, do not flush down the drain

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Nausea

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Skin rash or itching
• Headache
• Vaginal itching or discharge (due to yeast overgrowth)
• Mild fatigue

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe, watery, or bloody diarrhoea (may indicate a serious bowel infection called C. difficile colitis)
• Signs of severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing, or severe rash
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
• Severe skin peeling or blistering
• Unusual bruising or bleeding
