This combination cream is mainly used to treat melasma and other forms of skin darkening (hyperpigmentation) on the face.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating melasma (dark, patchy discolouration on the face)
• Reducing stubborn pigmentation that has not improved with simpler treatments
• Short-term, doctor-supervised skin lightening therapy

HOW IT WORKS

• Hydroquinone reduces the production of melanin, the pigment that causes dark patches
• Tretinoin speeds up skin cell turnover, helping fade pigmentation and improve cream penetration
• Mometasone, a steroid, reduces skin irritation caused by the other two ingredients

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for acne, though tretinoin alone is sometimes used for it
• Not for general skin whitening or cosmetic lightening of normal skin
• Not for long-term daily use beyond the prescribed period
• Not for use on broken, infected, sunburnt or eczema-affected skin

How to Use Hydroquinone (2% W/W) + Mometasone (0.1% W/W) + Tretinoin (0.025% W/W)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• For external use on the skin only; do not swallow
• Apply a thin layer to the affected area as prescribed, usually once daily at night
• Wash and pat dry the skin before application
• Avoid contact with eyes, lips, nostrils and mucous membranes
• Wash hands after applying
• Use sunscreen and avoid sun exposure while using this cream, as advised by your doctor
• Do not use more than the prescribed amount or for longer than advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Apply as soon as you remember, but skip it if it is almost time for the next application
• Do not apply extra cream to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep the tube tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Redness or mild burning at the application site
• Dryness, peeling or flaking of skin
• Stinging sensation after applying

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Increased sensitivity to sunlight
• Mild itching
• Temporary darkening before lightening effect appears

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe skin irritation, blistering or oozing
• Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips or difficulty breathing
• Thinning of skin, stretch marks or visible blood vessels with prolonged use
• Unusual skin colour changes such as blue-black darkening (ochronosis)
